Ravelry Projects Updated

I finally had a chance to upload all of my knitting projects to Ravelry...well, the ones I have photos of.
There are a ton of scarves I made way back when I was selling them. And, there are a couple of other projects I have on the needles that I haven't taken photos of. Wow...I've done a lot. It's kinda cool to see all of your accomplishments on one page...kinda inspiring too to get to work on more!!! I still have details to include on the projects, but at least they are listed. Most of them I have no idea what yarns or needles I used, so whateva!

This album is fabulous!!!! Check out the interview and hear the tunes! So loving this!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shall I IKnit You a Hat?

I went shopping with baby boy to Border's the other day and found some precious books for him for Christmas. That's pretty much all he's getting from us this year since his grandparents and aunt's will be spoiling him. I got him an awesome popup book called "One Red Dot" and some mini Dr. Seuss books that he picked out (based on color preference of course - I held up his choices and he picked orange and green...so cute). As I was leaving the children's section, I saw this book, didn't even look through it...it was a must have...."Shall I Knit You a Hat?"

I've already found some of you and made you my BFF...So, look for me too (Knitterista). I'm already beside myself about this thang. Yippie!

Over the river & through the woods

Flynnie's 1st Thanksgiving, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

Flynn experienced (as well as the two of us) his first airplane ride to grandmothers house this past weekend for Thanksgiving. He is the most amazing child ever. Not a squeek or a peep from him on the 4:30am trip to the airport. He just hung out and looked outside the window, ate and fell asleep and did the same thing coming home.

We had a great time at his grandmother's...a beautiful turkey and delicious gourmet dinner. She's a great cook! Lots of naps were had by all. And, a gorgeous snow Thanksgiving night. It was a good time!

We got to shop a little. I have my favorite shops in Santa Fe I like to go to when we visit. There is a darling upscale baby shop called Gypsy Baby. We got Flynnie a little red knit robot baby. He absolutely loves that thing...one of our best purchases to date.

For all you cupcake lovers...

Austin Cupcake Trailer, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

This is the cutes thing ever (besides my little man)...an Airstream Cupcake stand called Hey Cupcake. I didn't get to eat any cupcakes, but it was strategically placed, not only on South Congress in Austin, but across the street from one of my favorite yarn shops, Hill Country Weavers. I went to Austin 2 weekends ago to hangout with my Girlies. We missed Stitch this year, but the trip was still fun!

Ye ol' Chevron Scarf

domesticat chevron scarf, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

I'm just dying to knit one of those chevron scarves...especially since I'm not getting around to picking up the sock project for a while, I'll just use a skein of that yarn to make one of these. I hear they are fairly easy to make too and judging from Domesticat's free pattern, it seems pretty doable. So, after I finish Little Mister's pants (hopefully over the holiday weekend) I will get started on one of these. They are just gorgeous. There is a new girl, Courtney, at SnB that has worked on one and Amy at Good to be Girl has inspired me yet again today to get movin' on it.

PS: Just checked and there are now only a little over 4,000 people ahead of me to get on Ravelry. It's moving fairly "fast".

ravelry, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

I should have signed up for this months ago...but was too busy at the time to deal with one other online project. But, now that I am getting back into the groove of life I'm ready and they are. Dang. Last week I was like number 9,500 or something. These are my stats of today...

* You signed up on November 8, 2007
* You are #54727 on the list.
* 8266 people are ahead of you in line.
* 3063 people are behind you in line.
* 80% of the list has been invited so far

Now I understand why knitting bloggers were so excited when they were invited to be on...cause it took so freaking long...uggggghhhh. I'm not so much of a patient kind of girl. Drats!

I'm on a Roll

little pants, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

Another knitted project is in the works...whoo hoo!
I've started some little pants for my boy. For some reason "they" don't make black clothing for babies, so I'm makin' my own thank you! Maybe it's the spit-up factor. These have been on my list for some time. I'm using some cheap-o yarn but it's real soft...Caron Simply Soft. The pattern is adapted from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts"...I've made it a ribbed cuff instead of a seed stitch. I'm not a huge fan of the seed stitch look...it's "old lady" to me for some reason. I'm proud of myself for getting back into my knitting projects. I feel very productive doing so. And then of course my precious will look adorable in these...hoping they fit by the time I've finished making them!

I went home for lunch to see my bitty boy and put him in his sling so I could make a sandwich...he fell to sleep instantly...my sweet heart!

My first knitted gift for Flynn

knitted beanie, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

I finished the beanie hat for bitty boy. I adapted it from the SnB book pattern. He looked so freakin' cute in this yesterday. He loves wearing hats...he thinks it's funny. Now I'm working on black knitted pants for him. They don't make anything in black for babies so I guess I'll make my own.

Okay, I lied

Bee Swarm, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

My next post wasn't of a knitted project, but the next one after this will be. I had forgotten to show off my little swarm of bumble bees. The littlest one is fast asleep after only trick or treating a couple of houses...big and medium are in trouble cause the shook off their hats. But they all are still the most precious ever! NOTE: Ape (Ah-pey) our oldest pug means "bee" in Italian. Bees are our good luck charm.

I'm a knittin'

Okay, I finally had a moment to break open a book and start my knitting obsession again. I'm making Mr. baby boy a beanie...the umbilical cord hat sans the umbilical cord from Stitch n Bitch Handbook. I want to do a ribbed rim, but will do that on the next one. I am vowing to start going to knitting group regularly...went last week. It is something I totally and truly miss doing and am ready to get my head back into it. So, the next post will be a finished object...promise!

This is a great full show shot that the man took. I love this...it shows off the whole event and is so glittery and pretty and full of people buying amazing arts.

me and my girlies

For some reason we felt so calm about the show this year that we stopped at Starbucks for a coffee and a chit chat. This was right after a news interview so we were up at the crack that morning. We were all decked out in our girlie pink.

Flynnie's first Girlie Show ever on Saturday.

The Girlie Show Final Outfit

I went with Option #2. This was way more comfortable than the others, except the booties killed me...ugh! It was a great night. It was the best show we have had to date...great energy...great art, people, food, everything. It was perfect. Next year will be #5...oh, what to wear? Ha!

Taken in the bar mirror at the historic OKC Farmer's Market while setting up for The Girlie Show 10-11-07. Good thing you can't see how scraggle-y I look. Is scraggle-y a word? Don't thinks so.

What to Wear to The Girlie Show?

Okay...I need some help here. Of course, this isn't full on outfitted with correct accessories and heels and hair and makeup, but it gives you an idea of my choices for the show. What should I wear?

This is Option One sans pugs and maybe sans tights...not sure how I feel about all the color.

Stroller Brigade

Stroller Brigade, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

We have the best neighbors ever on our block...and great friends they are. Counting Flynnie, there have been 2 boys born on our side of the block and 7 born on the other. Seven currently still live here...and it's so much fun. We went with the Oldfields and the Currans recently to a great pizza place on the Paseo just a few blocks from the hood. So, here we all are with our strollers and little ones...it was quite a site and so much fun! We love our block!!! It's going to be such a blast all the boys growing up and playing together!

A snuggle with the pug boys! Flynnie was taking a little nap, so I figure, why can't we! Such sweet little dogs.

Sweet Faces

Here's a cute video of baby boy from June 22...it's been a while since I've been able to upload, so I will post in consecutive order even though it is over a month late. He is making lots of cute faces, crying, smiling...learning everything.

Flynn's Birth Announcement

We finally got these done and out today...woo hoo.
I just love this..my little rocker! We're gonna frame one of these poster size for Flynnie's room. JD's graphic designer did a fabulous job on these...a treasure.

What a perfect shot...I took this in my front yard...I so love butterflies. This is the only one I've seen lately and he was all over that flocks.

Self Portrait Tuesday

Me and my angel.
I just got this new sling at Target...love it and so does the boy. It's real snug and keeps him close..looks like a little cocoon. My girl Amy is gonna make me another one too, but in black...I got some kickin' fabric at ReproDepot...can't wait to wear that one. It's fun to wear him around in it...and he just looks up at me and checks out the house and what's going on...so sweet.

Self Portrait Tuesday

shadow self portrait, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

I took this of my shadow in front of the house at 32 weeks pregnant. I've been missing being pregnant lately...almost jealous of girls I see and know that are pregnant. I guess it's the anticipation feeling that was so exciting and now, that's gone and it's real life and I have a baby and it's super scary and overwhelming. Flynn is such a joy and am so glad he's here in our lives now. Life is so bizarre.

Flynnie has the hiccups...it's so cute! He had them in my belly...he has them now...all the time. This video was on June 1...he was 5 days old.

The coolest diaper bag ever

diaper bag, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

My girl, Cari, at MottoKitty (gotta give some props) made it for me. She makes the cutest bags. I wanted a cool diaper bag so we discussed all that I needed and she hooked me up. I wanted something I could use other than looking like a mommy bag, so we used my logo from my business cards and she made the design on my bag. I so love this. It's a must have and holds a ton! She'll make you one too...check her out...www.motokitty.com! She sent me a purse too which is darling. She's a scooter chick and in The Girlie Show...can't beat that.

My little goober pea

Baby Wardrobe Remix, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

This baby is so funny. I'm still laughing over this pose. Of course the pants are huge on him and up to his armpits, but I love him. And, his socks are finally fitting him. He can't wear his preemie stuff anymore...whoo hoo. We're growing up! He's over 6 pounds...going to get weighed this week to see where he's at.

I started back to work last week, I totally cried the first day...it was so bizarre leaving him after being with him 24/7. I'm okay now, but do miss his little sweet face. I would rather be with him, but ya know, ya gotta pay the bills sometimes....sucks!

Baby Wardrobe Remix

These shots crack me up. Some day he will get to wear new born clothes. Pretty much everything he can wear right now are preemie sizes. I have some cute stuff coming once he gets bigger. It's so funny how he's either yawning or unhappy in these shots.

Well, hello there

Here we go folks...I'm back and have a jillion photos to share with you of my sweetness...enjoy. You will be seeing an awful lot of this face!

I'm a momma!

bright eyed, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

My baby boy was born Saturday, May 26, 2007. Yes, I'm a little late in posting this info...but you know...I've been a little busy. I never imagined I wouldn't have time to do anything I normally did in my life before. All I want to do is sleep after nursing. This is a big job, but it doesn't really matter because he is so wonderful.

Flynn is now 3 1/2 weeks old and has changed so much already. We are trying to keep up with photos as well, but that is even a challenge. I will post more soon. He is an amazing little human. I'm a lucky girl for sure!

My family, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

He came a month early and is healthy and gorgeous and I'm doin' great considering we had a natural breach childbirth. Let me be honest...that was not fun! But, in the end anything was worth having this soul in my life.

Baby Shower Time

Baby Shower Invite, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

My girlfriends threw us a wonderful baby shower this weekend. It was so perfect. Becky opened her home and Angi, Dawn and Marilyn hosted with her. It was so pretty and about 30 of my friends and family came. I just wish I could have visited with everyone longer...it went by so fast. They got us some wonderful thoughtful gifts and opening everything was so much fun. Flynn will totally be stylin' in all his cute gear. Thank girls for making this a wonderful time for me. I loved it!

At the shower, they sat me on the leopardess thrown to open gifts. The food was wonderful and Becky ordered the cutest cake with a preggo chick on it. My girls did a lovely job...it was a very special shower and was so much fun.

The cutest pugs ever!

Sleepy face, originally uploaded by Knitterista.

More adorable pug photos...I had to snap these while driving home from the wedding last weekend. Ape doesn't like to miss any of the action on the road, so he sits up practically the whole time so he can watch me. But, he actually falls asleep with his little face pressed up against the crate. He cracks me up. Plus, Enzo hogs the lay-down space.

Sneaky Enzo

This pug is such a mess. I caught him in the kitchen going through their travel bag and getting ready to dig into the treat box. Another minute and he would have had them all in his belly.

Time to Knit

I feel like I won't let myself knit right now until I get all baby and house stuff in order. I don't know why I do that to myself. I need to just do it. I guess I feel guilty doing fun things when I need to clean house...yuck!

I am however starting a little cotton beanie cap for Flynn and I'm going to do a matching one for his Daddy. I also want to make some little knit pants and a sweater for the fall/winter. Maybe I have a thing about making warm things in the summer cause he can't wear them yet and I'll be wanting to see him in them as soon as possible. I hate waiting. I am going a little bonkers right now waiting for June 23 to roll around...even though I only have 8 more weeks left. That's really not very far off.

JD is going to be taking pregnancy photos soon. I want to do my hair and makeup vintage so it will hopefully detract from the thighs a little. They should turn out pretty cool.

Work is throwing a shower for us next week and then the following week, my big shower. Everything seems to be happening so fast. Flynn is getting big and heavy. My belly is tight and uncomfortable and have had a little heartburn, which is not fun. And, I see what is the beginnings of the cankle. I've been dreading that happening, but will deal I suppose. I'll endure whatever is thrown at me for my little boy.
